01/14/2019 at 10:32am EST

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired forward Andrew Cogliano from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Devin Shore.

Cogliano, 31, has recorded 11 points (3-8=11) in 46 games played for Anaheim this season. Amongst team leaders, he is tied for first in both games played (46) and minor penalties drawn (12), as well as tied for fifth in primary assists (6) and plus/minus rating (+2).

The 12-year veteran has appeared in 912 out of a possible 914 career regular-season games for Edmonton and Anaheim. Missing only the pair of contests in his entire career due to a two-game suspension (Jan. 15-17, 2018), his iron-man streak spanned the first 830 games of his career (Oct. 4, 2007 - Jan. 13, 2018) and stands as the fourth-longest games-played streak in NHL history.

He has posted 379 regular-season points (159-220=379) in his career and his 19 shorthanded goals since entering the NHL in 2007-08 are fifth-most in the League. He has a +39 plus/minus rating in his 12-year career, and he has finished the last six seasons with a positive plus/minus total as he is a +63 over those years. Additionally, he has compiled 25 points (8-17=25) in 64 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, with his team qualifying in each of the last six seasons.

"In acquiring Andrew, we are able to add a conscientious player who brings a veteran-presence to our room," said Nill. "His explosive speed, 200-foot game and iron-man mentality will help our team both on and off the ice."

The 5-foot-10, 177-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was originally selected by Edmonton in the first round (25th overall) of the 2005 NHL Draft. He was acquired by Anaheim from Edmonton in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft on July 12, 2011.

Shore, 24, has registered 17 points (5-12=17) in 42 regular-season games for Dallas this season. In parts of four seasons with Dallas, he totaled 82 points (29-53=82) in 209 games played.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Ajax, Ontario was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (61st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
