“I thought I was going to be tried to be shut down by Phillip Danault. Instead it was the Department of Player Safety that shut me down. So that definitely sucks.”

Instead it was the Department of Player Safety that shut me down. So that definitely sucks,” Scheifele said of the suspension on Wednesday.

Actually no it was you that shut yourself down.

He continues on about how he doesn’t know what else he could have done.  I don’t know if he’s being serious or just giving sour grapes, but it’s just a joke at this point.

He needs to get over this and stop complaining.
It’s beginning to linger and mar his reputation more
because he keeps saying things, like “what, I’m not supposed to back check?”

Danault with his pizza is looking like the more likable center by far.

And is Evans even likely to play next series?

Winnipeg is an inherently likable NHL city and franchise.
Their forward depth looked crazy going into that series, as did their
goaltending. Their team defense was great against Edmonton (albeit with many saying they got away with 2003 clutching and grabbing).

But something is off and they have to fix it - perhaps move a forward for a defenseman? This could have been Scheifle’s intro to a lot more viewers and if he’d handled it gracefully he and his team would be remembered much more sympathetically. Does Stastny stay? Are Scheifle and Wheeler the right leaders?
How does Dubois fit?
