Capfriendly says he’s made $118 million plus dollars in his career. Even if he only pocketed 40% of that after escrow and taxes and agents, he made more money than he can spend in two lifetimes. I’m all for fair deals, but this comment was idiotic, especially in a town like Pittsburg.

Sure he made good money but it’s way less than NFL, MLB or NBA. The team has made way more than what he was paid as well. He’s referring to that most likely. He’ll come play, but he’s not playing for $1mm per year.

He is still a 1A Center on any team so it’s not like we’re talking about some random player wanting to make bank and he sucks.

Like Toews in Shitcago is bad and he thinks he’s better than he is. He’s a 3C now but thinks he can play top line minutes. If he were to leave his team, and made this comment, it would be laughable at best and satire at worst. Maybe they should tank like they did in prior years or NYR did and then go play in the playoffs the next year.

Just like MTL? That seems to be the strategy now. Field the worse team you can when you need a top pick and then load up the next year after getting a top 5 pick.

He deserves the term and AAV consistent with what he’s worth, I agree. But acting like he and his family aren’t already set for life is kind of, to me, sh1tty.
