Bad call in my opinion. I did not see a kicking motion. How can you have a kicking motion without bend your knee? It wasn’t a roundhouse kick.

I def did not see a “distinct kicking motion”, I don’t see how anyone does, and it’s legal to direct a puck into the net with your skate. And it looked like it was going in anyway.
If he kicked it in, he did so with the other leg caught on the goaltender’s pads, and someone shoving him from behind. That’s an amazing feat of athleticism, if he kicked it.
That was a goal.

This is a tricky one, the fact that he moved his foot at the last second was what sealed it for me as a bad goal.
Ultimately though, this is not the first tough call the NHL has had with foot goals. I think I would rather see it changed to all foot goals are either good or bad. Not this gray, judgment area.
Imagine if this had happened in the last minute of a tie game. At the point the refs are absolutely determining the winner.
