The New Jersey Devils today re-signed defenseman Adam Larsson to a six-year contract with an average annual value of $4,166,666.67. The salary breakdown is as follows: 2015-16: $2,500,000; 2016-17: $3,000,000; 2017-18: $4,500,000; 2018-19: $4,850,000; 2019-20: $5,050,000; and 2020-21: $5,100,000. The announcement was made by Devils’ General Manager Ray Shero.

Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils today re-signed defenseman Adam Larsson to a six-year contract with an average annual value of $4,166,666.67. The salary breakdown is as follows: 2015-16: $2,500,000; 2016-17: $3,000,000; 2017-18: $4,500,000; 2018-19: $4,850,000; 2019-20: $5,050,000; and 2020-21: $5,100,000. The announcement was made by Devils’ General Manager Ray Shero.

Larsson, 22, led all New Jersey defensemen in assists and points with a 3g-21-a-24pts line, while playing in 64 games in 2014-15. He also appeared in one game for Albany (AHL) while on a conditioning stint. All of his NHL scoring totals represented new career-highs. Larsson split the previous two seasons, 2012-13 and 2013-14, between New Jersey and Albany. He spent his entire 2011-12 rookie season with New Jersey, scoring two goals and 16 assists for 18 points in a career-high 65 contests. His assist total was second-among NHL rookie defensemen and his points ranked fifth. He also skated in five games during the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, adding one goal and four PIM. In 192 career NHL games, he has six goals and 45 assists for 51 points with 78 penalty minutes.

The native of Skelleftea, Sweden spent two professional seasons with his hometown club, Skelleftea in Elitserien, prior to his North American career. Larsson also represented Sweden at the 2010 (won Bronze Medal) and 2011 World Junior Championships. He was New Jersey’s first choice and the fourth overall selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
