Hey everyone, I know it’s been a few days. Feels like a lot longer for a guy who is so used to writing so often. Anyway, I just had a few things I wanted to add/correct/update from my NHL 12 review. As well as update everyone on how the first few days of KK’s EASHL Club System is going, as well as how the first few days of the first season (September) have been in the EASHL in NHL 12.

NHL 12 Review
by Doug Miller on 09/13/11 at 12:30 PM ET

The time has finally come. My NHL 12 review is here. Granted I probably still could have used a bit more time with the game, and ran into a few bumps in the road along the way. Sometimes the puck takes a funny bounce though, and that’s hockey, you just have to roll with the punches, and always be ready for anything and everything. Anyway, without further delay, let’s get started.
There is so much to talk about with NHL 12, that it’s hard to know where to begin. Thankfully EA Sports sent me a little “Review Guide” along with my paperwork, so I’ll just use that for the basic structure.

Red Wings HockeyFest 2011 Recap
by Doug Miller on 09/12/11 at 01:00 PM ET

Well HockeyFest 2011 has come and gone. Nether myself, nor my assistant for the day, my good friend Mike, lasted the entire event, as we were both exhausted by 3PM. So, after I got home around 4PM, I passed out until about 11:30PM. Then I woke up and started sorting through all of the media I had gotten, which took a few hours in itself.
Anyway, for a full recap of Saturday’s event from my perspective, continue reading.
Note: I know this was supposed to have been posted yesterday, but Paul overruled me on it, and suggested we save something like this for Monday, so it doesn’t get lost in the weekend posts.

The official release of NHL 12 in North America is just around the corner, next Tuesday, and the early access download to be released later today, at 6PM EST for EA Sports Season Ticket subscribers.
So I figured today would be the perfect time to announce that Kukla’s Korner will have their own official EASHL Club in NHL 12 on Xbox 360. Well, not just one mere Club, but an entire “Club System” actually. Continue reading on for all of the details regarding this special announcement.

NHL 12 Preview - Reader Q&A
by Doug Miller on 09/07/11 at 04:10 PM ET
Comments (5)
Thanks to everyone that submitted a question on Monday. I read the questions in email form on my phone as they popped up throughout the day, so I’ve had some time to think about the answers. Excellent questions all around though. So now let me get to answering them all to the best of my ability, starting in the order that they were submitted.
Note: Sorry that I was a day late with this, it took longer to write than I thought, due to the in-depth nature of many of the questions, plus a little glitchly complication I was having with my offline BAP, that I had to spend a few hours talking to EA about to work on fixing the issue and assuring it’s patched up by the time all of you get the game when it’s released.

Well tomorrow marks the early release download for the European Season Ticket subscribers. It also means the end to the embargo for reviews on NHL 12 set by EA Sports.
I figured that since all bets will now be off then, I’ll take some time out of my busy review schedule to answer any possible questions anyone might have about NHL 12. Since I’ll be free to talk about anything and everything then. So please submit your questions in the comments section of this post, and I’ll take some time tomorrow to answer all of them in a special Q&A style preview blog tomorrow!

Cluster Pucks’ Review of NHL 12 is Officially Underway!
by Doug Miller on 09/01/11 at 12:20 PM ET

I’m very happy to report that I have just received my early retail copy of NHL 12 for review from EA Sports!
I know this might seem like rather shocking and unexpected news, considering yesterday’s blog post, when this looked like this was the last thing that would possibly happen. However, apparently a lot can change in less than 24 hours. I’m not joking around either, and below is all the proof you should need.

NHL 12 Update: The Status of My Review Copy and More Legends Info
by Doug Miller on 08/31/11 at 02:00 PM ET
Comments (2)
Well here we are, just under two weeks away from the North American release of the next installment in EA Sports NHL Franchise, the highly-anticipated NHL 12. I had figured that my blog would slow down a bit around this time. Although I had expected that this would be due to the fact that I would be very busy playing my review copy of NHL 12 around the clock in an effort to get my comprehensive and in-depth review done and posted up the morning of September 13, the game’s release date.
However, as it stands at the time, I have yet to receive said review copy from EA. So, I sent their PR people an email yesterday regarding the current status of my review copy, and now I’ve got some solid answers about the situation at hand.
UPDATE - Pre time-stamp release of 12PM: Added new Gretzky “milestone” video this morning, about an hour before this was set to go up, it can be found at the bottom of this post, as per usual with last second updates of recently breaking news.

NHL 12 Update: More EA Sports Season Ticket Info and Speculation
by Doug Miller on 08/27/11 at 02:00 PM ET

Yesterday, shortly before 5PM EST, I got an email from EA Sports in my inbox. It was to let me know that my 3 day early access download for Madden NFL 12 had been released and was ready for download as a part of my subscription to EA Sports Season Ticket program. Although the release time for this, including NHL 12 and other future games that support the new Season Ticket plan, is supposed to be 6PM EST. As I had suspected, somehow my time-zone had never gotten properly set on my Google account, in fact it was way off, but even after I had made the proper adjustment, it still appears that this time-stamp on that email was indeed correct.
UPDATE - 12:20 PM Also, just found some info about an Xbox 360 store in Toronto that has an extended demo of NHL 12 available for play, more info at the bottom of this post!
There is more to this story obviously, so continue reading for the rest of the information I’ve figured out since then.
