Happy Mother’s Day 2021

Who else but my Mother would wake up with me at 6:00am ro play catch with me on a warm summer morning?

Wo else but my Mom would take me to my first Wings game when I was six yeas old?

Who else would take my friends and me to a Saturday ladies day ball  game at Tiger Stadium?  My Mom knew a bargain too, 75 cents back then to watch the Bengals.

Who else would drive me to the local bars to collect their bottle caps from pop bottles?  My Mom did, probably a hundred times, just so we could turn those caps in for a baseball or football.

My Mom treated me with kid gloves but on a few occasions, boxing gloves came in handy for her too.

I miss my Mom daily so give your mom a hug and one from me too.

If you are a mom, come here, allow me to tell you how great you are.  This day is yours, but know you are special every day of the year.

KK- Easter Sunday Plans

I will be around on Sunday morning for the morning update, then I have no idea what is going on.

Friends are only telling me "you are not working on Easter Sunday, we have plans for you."  So I am going to play it by ear.

My birthday is on Monday so I believe both days are being combined into one and I am just going to flow with it.

Of course, if anything big breaks, you know darn well I will be behind the keyboard.

To be truthful, I could probably use a day off and plan to abide by the rules and do what my friends tell me to do.

Oh, and Happy Easter.

A Good Night For Some Rest

With only two games tonight, Bruins/Rangers at 7pm ET and Blues/Coyotes at 9pm, tonight is a good night to give my eyes and brain a bit of a rest.

If any news of importance pops up, I will post it.  If not, I will be back at it on Saturday morning.

Ten games on the schedule for tomorrow starting with Senators/Jets at 3pm.  That game is part of Hockey Day in Canada.

Happy New Year 2021

To 2020- don't let the door hit you in the behind on the way out, we've had enough of you.

May 2021 bring us all what we wish for, in my case hoping my health continues to trend in a positive direction, laughter is abundant and peace throughout the world.

Stay safe and hurry back soon everyone.  Our game is coming back.

KK- On The Morning Before Christmas

This will probably be my first Christmas without being with family.

I have an older sister who lives in Arizona, my parents are both looking from above, a close cousin who always visits from Ft. Myers won't be doing so this year.

I've been invited to a virtual dinner by friends but to be truthful, I actually need to eat something so a small, cubed, young leg of lamb is in day 2 of being marinated and will be cooked on Christmas Day along with some rice and green beans. Simple and probably fitting for the year 2020.

I will be around for any hockey news but I doubt we will see any major news until after Santa kicks his feet up on the 26th.

Starting at 6:00pm today, the annual KK songs of the season will start and be posted 1 1/2-2 hours apart and run through Christmas morning.

Have a safe and peaceful Christmas and Happy Holidays too.

KK- Back In A Few Hours

I have a scheduled appointment for 11am today so off I go.  Hopefully any big news will wait until I return around 1pm ET.

In the meantime if you see something noteworthy for other hockey fans, feel free to post in the comments.

I will also try to tweet out any news during my absence.

KK- Relax Mode

I am officially in kick back mode or get ready for Thanksgiving on Thursday when I will be hosting a few friends.

I am in charge of the deep-fried cajun turkey, mashed potatoes and the stuffing.

Since my close family no longer lives in the area, I appointed myself as the patriarch of friends for the day. (some of you may say emperor)

I will update if needed but with the NHL and NHLPA in a pause, I do think it will continue to be slow.

My only Thanksgiving wish is to remind people if you've had one too many pops, hand over the keys or call a car service. I want everyone back in place on Friday where we can hope our game is back soon.

Plus be thanful for what we all have, many are far worse off than we are.

Enjoy the Holiday.

KK- Out For A Few Hours

I am on my way to a scheduled Dr. appointment and should return by 1pm or so.

It's very slow again today and I will update, if needed, when I return.

KK- It’s Slow

Weird to say the offseason is upon us in mid-October, but it has been a very weird year since the middle of March.

For those new to KK, I am around but do not post just to post.  Only newsworthy information which I feel is of interest to the majority of followers is posted.  So when you see a post, rest assured it is probably worth checking out.

On another note, the KK Donation Drive is winding down and $400 would get me to my goal for this period.  I am concerned about the downtime and hope it doesn't last long.  Also, another stimulus check would work wonders.

With that...

I prefer payment via PayPal (note new PayPal link now affiliated with KK) and also have a GoFundMe account set up too.  Another payment method I'm using is Zelle, which is a way to send a donation through your bank.  The email address to use is pk at kuklaskorner dot com
