Tortorella Starting to Get Fired Up

From Patrick Hoffman (me) at Inside Hockey:
When the New York Rangers hired John Tortorella to replace head coach Tom Renney in February of 2009, the team knew that they were getting a hard-nosed coach who demanded hard work, discipline and smart hockey.
With the Blueshirts struggling over the past week, Tortorella has began to weed out the players who are not following his system, specifically forward Ales Kotalik and defenseman Wade Redden.
Kotalik has had an inconsistent first season on Broadway. In 32 games, Kotalik has posted 19 points, which isn’t terrible but is not what the head coach is looking for as Kotalik’s efforts have suffered elsewhere on the ice.
