What a game.
With a 3-2 series lead, the Devils literally tried to throw everything they had at the Rangers to finish this series off in front of their home fans. After dropping a 2-0 lead that they gained in the first period, the Devils were able to pull through with a 3-2 win in overtime. The Devils will now move on to face the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, as they search to bring the Stanley Cup back to New Jersey.

No Suspension For Devils’ Carter
by David Pavlak on 12/28/11 at 12:18 PM ET

Devils center Ryan Carter has learned that there will be no disciplinary action taken after his hit against Carolina’s Jaroslav Spacek. During the play, Carter was issued a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct.
You can watch the hit here. Sorry for the crappy video, but you can still get the jist of it.
I am very surprised that nothing will come of this hit. As soon as it happened I had already come up with it being about a two game suspension.
You can read Carter’s thoughts after the jump.

The Devils have signed two players to contracts as the team continues to recover from a recent string of debilitating injuries.
The first signing came in the form of Ryan Carter who was put on waivers by the Florida Panthers. Most recently, however, the Devils have signed Steve Bernier to a contract with the AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils.
