Vancouver vs Detroit: A Graphical Post-Game Analysis

Pretty exciting being a part of a game where two teams fight for the coveted prize of “Whose goal-tending sucks worse?” and discovering—after 60 minutes of straight shoot-outs—that your team wins that contest. Not a great night for Vancouver, and even Red Wings nation had difficulties finding comfort in their win.

For my own post-game analysis, I decided on a carefully-plotted, statistically sensitive chart that would help us all see that game in proper context:

Tonight the Canucks face the Minnesota Wild and I’ll be co-hosting the Liveblog at the Canucks.com Fanzone starting at 5pm, along with a few other people.

But more on that later. For now, perhaps we can just pretend hockey doesn’t exist. How about considering other sports? There’s probably less aggravation and suffering involved in being a Blue Jays fan, for instance.

After all, it’s baseball… I don’t even care who wins as long as the ballpark hotdogs have mustard.
