RUMOUR MILL: Hockey website www.eurohockey.net is reporting that Moose centre Brad Moran has signed to play with the Hamburg Freezers of the German Elite League next season.

Moran, who sits second in team playoff scoring, denied yesterday that any sort of deal has been signed.

“They made an announcement but there’s been some miscommunication,” said Moran, who will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1. “Something happened and we’re trying to fix it. I’m disappointed it happened but there are people looking after it. I’m not worried about right now. I’m focused on winning games and winning this series.”

Moran, who played in Switzerland last season, admitted that returning to Europe is an option but his first choice is to remain in North America and the Vancouver Canucks will have until June 30 to re-sign him if they so desire.

Let me round out the day’s offerings with a pissed off Canucks’ fan. And, oooooooh, you gotta love the price of hockey:

Mills says he’s held a pair of premium “club seats” at the arena for the last half-dozen years and is furious he won’t have first right of refusal for Olympic hockey games.

“It’s all about customer loyalty,” Mills fumed. “I figure I’ve dumped $100,000 into Orca Bay. The biggest event in my lifetime is coming to town and I feel we have been sold out.”

Two seats plus parking in GM all season cost Mills $14,000 a year. The deal he’s upset about is when the Vancouver Olympics 2010 get the use of GM Place from Jan. 28 to Mar. 4, 2010. The Olympic committee is paying $18.5-million, plus a $110,000-a-day rental fee for the 36 days.

Hmmm. It’s hard to imagine how hockey team owners ever stay afloat with such paltry sums being thrown around. Thank God the CBA protects them from certain poverty…
