Puckhound61 (from the Kukla's Korner forums) was good enough to drop me a note today pointing out that the NHLPA website has Ryan Shannon down with a Canucks contract and a salary of $550,000 for the 2007-08 season. No official word yet (that I can find) but the NHLPA often gets these things out faster than the team press releases do.

You may recall, Shannon was picked up in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in June, as long-lost Sedin triplet Jason King went the other direction.A reader and Anaheim Ducks fan wrote me this about Shannon back when the deal was made:"He’s a smartass sweetheart with an Irish streak a mile wide and a great sense of humor…you’ll love him." And we'll love him for pretty damn cheap, too. Bonus! :)Update July 18, 2007: From TSN, confirmation... finally! Plus another tidbit.
The Vancouver Canucks signed free-agent centre Ryan Shannon and re-signed minor-league goaltender Drew MacIntyre on Wednesday.
