Hockey is apparently coming sooner than we thought. Because of the miracle of Sportsnet (that is, the miracle of the network suddenly realizing they had a captive, hockey-desperate audience in late September, well-primed by training camp reports, and anxious to see a puck drop and a body check) we're getting 2 pre-season games this year: Sept 22 vs San Jose and Sept 29 vs Edmonton. Both are road games and both are meaningless to the season schedule. And I'm thrilled, anyway. The Canucks have only ever televised two other pre-season games in their whole history. This is great news for those of us who don't live in Vancouver especially -- all we ever usually get to see is highlights; it'll be great to see a couple full games to judge for ourselves some of the line mixes and players that Vigneault experiments with in the pre-season.Well, at least for me. I get depressed hearing from the likes of J.J. and DaveO as they attend those games and smugly share all the details while I remain clueless. :)
