Hockey as Art

Great cartoon from Bob Krieger at The Province today. You can click the image to see it full size at The Province website, and see some more great stuff by Krieger.

And Peter Diamond, an illustrator in Vienna, Austria, forwarded this remarkable work to me the other day, depicting Daniel and Henrik Sedin:

Pretty impressive—you can find more of his work at his website.

Incidentally, over at Pass it to Bulis, they noted this when posting the illustration above:

Diamond’s image is equal parts creepy and awesome. I love it. Know what else is creepy and awesome? Henrik Sedin, who wears number 33, played 33:33 last night. That has to mean something.

Finally, one of my all-time favourite hockey cartoon editorialists has to be Charlie Teljeur, who spent many seasons entertaining us with The Instigator at the CBC website. You can find archives there or at his own website.

Meanwhile, here’s a fun one, for old time’s sake:

A classic. Sorry, my Toronto friends, but some jokes just never get old… :)
