Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have signed goaltender Cory Schneider. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.Update 11:02am PT: A reminder of Schneider's recent activities from TSN -- "Schneider has been playing in the NCAA for Boston College and holds the school single-season records for saves at 1,088 and shutouts at eight. Both records were set during the 2005/06 season."Update 9:22pm PT: Comments from Schneider in the Boston Herald:
"There’s pretty much zero chance of me making the team with Luongo there. I need the time to develop at Manitoba." Schneider could become the subject of trade talks, a possibility that he is prepared for. "I understand it’s a business and I’d deal with it and move on,” Schneider said. “I’m happy to be a part of Vancouver’s organization, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to go somewhere where I’d have a better chance to play."
