Quote of the Day:
“Poor Alanah. I’m worried about Alanah…”
- Pierre McGuire
This was Pierre’s response earlier today, when considering my status as a Canucks fan. He was reflecting on the hardships in Vancouver, both the scoring problems as well as today’s loss of Mattias Ohlund (which I blathered about earlier here, after I’d whined for long enough about Chris Pronger; although, is it really ever enough?).
You can check out the whole interview with McGuire here. A very smart hockey guy, obviously, and a gracious interview as well.
Alas, shouldn’t more people should feel sorry for Canucks fans?? (err… okay, maybe not…). But it would be so nice if they did… less hate mail, more love! :)
And that’s my message of hockey peace for the day.
(Now, time to kill the Phoenix Coyotes…)
In Other News…
- Richard Loat, creator of the ridiculously successful Vancouver Canucks Fans Facebook app (153,570 members strong), is inviting people to join a good cause: a fundraiser for Canuck Place, and you can participate through a 10k run/5k walk. Registration is through here—more info available at Facebook.
Speaking of Facebook, I somehow got on a mailing list for a Facebook Group called “Beer”. Not surprising in itself maybe, but somehow or other this group now sends me email updates.
Today’s update: “Hi Alanah. This email was sent by Beer!”
And so finally I have a reason to really care about Facebook…
We recently started a Twitter feed of all Kukla’s Korner headlines which picks up every hockey related story on the site—general NHL as well as Abel to Yzerman, Eye on the Media and Canucks & Beyond posts. So if you Twitter, you might find it handy.
