Raymond suffered a lower-body injury Friday in practice when he collided with Ben Chiarot.
“He went to get checked from a doctor,” coach Derek Lalonde said. “Probably in that day-to-day range.”
If he can’t play, Lalonde said Dominik Kubalik will return to the lineup. Kubalik was scratched for Thursday’s 2-1 victory over Calgary to make room for Filip Zadina, who returned from a three-month absence due to a broken leg.
Kubalik is second on the team with 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists), but has only two points (goal, assist) in his past eight games.
“Obviously, it’s frustrating. You always want to play. You don’t want to be the guy who’s not,” Kubalik said. “Obviously, I want to get back to my game, what it was at the beginning of the season. I think that’s the main goal right now. Be at those shooting areas, be hungry around the net. And shoot the puck. That’s usually the No. 1 thing and in the last couple of games I haven’t done it. I think that’s where I’m focusing right now.”
He has four shots in his past four games. He is frustrated by not being able to get off shot opportunities from his power-play spot on the right flank in Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to Edmonton.
“I know I can shoot that. That for me is the most important thing,” Kubalik said. “The first one-timer there, I’m sure if I would get another (opportunity) it would be a good shot. I just got to keep shooting. Sometimes you think to pass somewhere, but I know that my shot is one of my strengths, so I got to use it.”
