Videos- Quick Recap Detroit Red Wings/Columbus Blue Jackets

11/21/2019 at 9:35pm EST

Detroit came out of the gate slowly and the Blue Jackets stormed the Detroit goal and put one behind Howard early.

The Wings seemed to play better as the period played out and Tyler Bertuzzi scored to tie the game at 1-1.

Second verse same as the first- Columbus came out strong in the second period and on a 5 on 3, they scored to take a 2-1 lead.

The Wings had their own 5-3 pp later in the second, but could not get a shot on goal on the 5 on 3 and then the 5 on 4.

Then late in the period, Hronek tries to make a cross-ice pass, it hits the skate of Seth Jones and goes in to tie the game. 44 seconds later and Glendening scores a shorty so the Wings lead 3--2 after 40 minutes.

Columbus scored on the pp with just over 12 minutes left in the third period and the game is tied at three.

1:03 later, Columbus scores to take a 4-3 lead.

Columbus made it 5-3 with about 6 minutes left in regulation then Bertuzzi scored with Howard pulled to make it 5-4 with just about 3 minutes left but could not get the game tying goal.

Final 5-4 Columbus over Detroit.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
