Coach Lalonde first, below are Alex Nedeljkovic and Dominik Kubalik.

from Paul W. Smith of WJR at the Detroit News,

Note to the Detroit Red Wings organization: It would be a good thing to do (and the right and just thing to do) to have a Karen Newman appreciation night, where the fans get to properly thank her for her more than 30 years of service to the team and to all of us with her great rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before each game.

A final standing "O" is totally in order.

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

The Detroit Red Wings are the only team without a regulation loss, but coach Derek Lalonde hasn’t suddenly become superstitious, other than one habit.

“I have had the one sweater on the entire time, but you’ll see that through five-game losing streaks, too,” he said. “There’s a lack of depth to my wardrobe.”...

“Anytime you’re building a new process, if you get results, it helps,” he said. “We’ll go through many games this year where we don’t get results with a good process and vice versa. The process has been pretty good, buy-ins pretty good. And fortunately, we’ve been rewarded. It’s exciting....

Lalonde said his conversations with general manager Steve Yzerman haven’t centered on results.

“He’s big picture,” Lalonde said. “Results are great, but he really looks at the process. It’s good right now. It’s not great. We rarely talk about a win or loss; it’s we did this, we did that. It’s a (small) sample size but some of these free-agent signings are filling holes right now. So that’s exciting for the big picture.”

from Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now,

Alex Nedeljkovic, 26, will play tonight against the New Jersey Devils (7 p.m., Bally Sports). That will give Ville Husso and him three starts apiece.

“We’ll re-evaluate again tomorrow but I don’t know if I foresee that (rotation) changing,” Lalonde said. “Both goalies are winning, both goalies are playing well.”

Husso, 27, owns a 2.00 goals-against average and .939 save percentage, while Nedeljkovic is at 2.96 and .912.

“I don’t know if Ville’s numbers are a reflection of his play, which is a positive,” Lalonde said. “We’ve done very well in front of Ville. And I don’t know if Ned’s numbers, which are slightly below Ville’s, are an indication of his play, too, as we left him out to dry a little more, which is understandable. Ned’s had the two road games, home-openers for two teams.”

Man, I wish, when she asked about his kid's name, and said, "We know it's a boy...", that Ned had said, "IT IS?!?!" just to scare the shit out of her for a sec.

Also, both bottom vids are Ned.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
