from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
The standings are an eyesore and the team statistics are ugly across the board for the Detroit Red Wings 30 games into the season.
They are the worst team in the NHL by virtually every measure, starting with the primary indicator – their league-low 17 points.
It’s a number they’ve been stuck on for some time, due to eight consecutive regulation losses -- 10 games without a win overall (0-8-2).
Coach Jeff Blashill, however, put a positive spin on much of this recent stretch.
“From the coaching staff perspective, I don’t have to walk around here and be mad at everybody and be dark and gloomy,” Blashill said. “We’ve played pretty well the last number of games, with the exception of a terrible game against Toronto (6-0 loss on Wednesday), and we got no results to show for it. The scoresheet looks terrible. I get all that. But I’m just telling you our guys have done lots of good stuff, so let’s just keep building on those things.”
Maybe the hightlight of the night could be Mickey Redmond's story of getting his tongue stuck to a metal post, watch below.
