Is Vrana coming back this year?
I've been wondering the same thing.
Berggren - Veleno - Czarnik
I like Czarnik, but he's 29. So I'd actually prefer to get a look at Andreasson or Hanas. They looked good in the local TV game I saw a couple of weeks ago. We'll see what they look like on the locally televised game on Saturday.
One thing that's pretty clear by Czarnik being called up is that Givani Smith's chances of remaining a Red Wing are somewhere in the slim-to-none category. He has the worst +/- rating of any of the Griffins (a -13 in 13 games), and he only has 2 goals & 2 assists over that span in spite of playing top-six minutes.
In looking at the Griffins stats, the most disturbing thing to see is that no goalie that has played for them this year has/had a SV% better than .875. And Cossa's not looking that great in Toledo either with a 2.98 GAA and a .898 SV% through 11 games (with a 4-6-1 record).
I can't believe we didn't draft Wallstedt.
Well, HD, Wallstedt isn't doing much better. He's 4-3-3 in 10 games with the Iowa Wild with a 3.17 GAA and an .895 SV%.
I'm hoping to see Hellberg in goal in tomorrow's locally televised Griffins game. I thought he looked pretty good in his one preseason game.
Terrible luck for Bert. Hoping Berg stays up. Too bad about Smith for sure, I had higher hopes. I wonder if another team would give him a look.
I think Berg has been really good. I can't see him being sent back.
