I'm not really sure what's going on with Mo this year, but I don't think he's playing with the same level of confidence he had last year. Raymond has had his struggles this year too, but he doesn't seem to lack any confidence.
From what I've seen, Mo has made more bad decisions with the puck so far than he did all last year. Maybe it's trying to adapt to playing with Chiarot. Maybe it's just the old "sophomore slump."
Personally, I'd like to see him play a few games with Maatta while Chiarot plays with Hronek just to see if that helps.
I think Mo's issues are related to playing with Chiarot. Ben is always leading the rush whenever he can. Which was what Mo was doing last year. Now he has to stay back to cover for Ben.
If that's true (and I'm leaning towards that conclusion myself), it's why I'd like to see Mo play a few games with Maatta. He's very similar in style to Staal so it may help Mo to focus more on playing his old style.
