Detroit came out flying early in the first and were rewarded with a goal. Toronto picked up their game a bit late and evened the score at 1-1. That's how the period ended.
The second period had the same feel to me with the Wings taking charge early and scoring two early goals, then Toronto added a goal midway in the period. Detroit scored a late power play goal to make the score 4-2 after forty minutes.
In the third the Leafs scored twice to make it 4-4 with eight minutes left. Then with just under three minutes left, Toronto with another goal to make it 5-4.
Where the Wings a tired team, probably but they needed to fight through that and play better defensively.
Fabbri took a penalty with just under two minutes to play and the Leafs added an empty net goal and another ENG to make the final 7-4.
A bad third period for Detroit.
Next game is Monday with the Ducks in town.
