It was a 2-2 game after 20 minutes and a 3-3 game after 40 minutes.
A pretty evenly played game although I would give Ottawa a slight nod for being the better team.
In the third period, Ottawa scored 3 goals to win 6-3.
Detroit gave up 3 power play goals and a two short handed (one in an empty net) ones too. The Wings also went 33% in the faceoff circle.
Detroit goals are below.
Story of the game? Special teams.
I like Tanguay as a person, but if all he's got for the PP is to pass the puck around the perimiter hoping for a one-timer from either Kubalik of Perron, then he has to go. Every goalie in the league knows it's coming.
Beyond that, I'm not impressed with the aggressiveness of the PK. It started the season out fine, but now it looks like they're just trying not to make mistakes. And in the end, that's exactly what they do.
For me, the bizarre part of this game is Husso was charged with five goals against and he could easily have been at least the third star of the game.
We need to fire Blashill, this power play has been terrible for years, and there's no excuse this year with the additional talent we have, how many strikes does he get?

one could say the same about the setups for stamkos, or ovi. curious as to what you think would remedy this issue? keep in mind, wings have some of the finest minds in hockey advising behind the scenes, tanguay doesn’t operate independently.
btw, thought copp worked a nice screen yesterday on the 5 on 3.
With all due respect to Perron and Kubalik, neither of them are as lethal with their one-timers as Ovi or Stamkos. As for what I want? I just want to see some creative thinking when it comes to the PP. And movement. Lots and lots of movement.
