from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Who is ready for a breakout season? Or, I guess, who has the most room for improvement or will take the biggest leap?
A: Production-wise, they need Dylan Larkin to take the biggest leap after a disappointing season in which he put up only nine goals and 23 points in 44 games. Much depends on his health after a late-season neck injury. Having a healthy Tyler Bertuzzi will help Larkin, but it also remains to be seen how quickly Bertuzzi can return to form following back surgery in April.
But as far a breakout season goes, they would be delighted if Filip Zadina experienced that. He improved in his play without the puck last season, but the offense was lacking (six goals, 19 points in 49 games). He still is young (22 on Nov. 27) but has some experience now, entering his fourth pro season. They need to find more ways to get him the puck in shooting positions and he needs to continue trying to find shooting lanes and ways to get more pucks on net.
