Michael Rasmussen thinks he’s ready to return to the Detroit Red Wings.
“It’s been tough. You never want to be out and in that spot of not playing," he said after playing the last of a three-game conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins. "So it’s been tough on me but I’ve tried to stay positive and work hard to get back.”
The touted rookie was held without a shot and a minus-one plus/minus rating Wednesday as the Griffins got two late power play goals from Filip Hronek to beat the Manitoba Moose, 2-1, at Van Andel Arena.
The 6-foot-6, 221-pound Rasmussen hasn't played with the Red Wings since Jan. 4 with a sore hamstring. He's missed 10 games.
Asked about the groin injury, Rasmussen said, "it’s fine.”
Below, watch the game highlights of the Griffins 2-1 win.
