from Aaron Portzline of The Athletic,
“I knew (it was Larkin) pretty much right away,” Werenski said. “I was kind of laughing during it. We weren’t holding back. I was trying to win the fight, and I think he was as well.
“Once I realized it was him, with everything going on, him leaving tickets for my family, my parents being here, my friends … pretty funny how it all worked out.”
Larkin offered his own play-by-play:
“We had six guys (with their goaltender pulled); they have five. I saw Korpisalo in there with his stick — I was kind of late to the pile — and didn’t like it, and I think as I tried to jump in, I think I elbowed Zach and didn’t make him happy. We fought, and that was it. Not our first fight. We’ve had plenty of battles.”
