This year's team has far more talent across the board than last year. It hasn't played like it on occasion, but it's true.
I just said that this morning!
They might as well dive to the bottom, again. Whats missing? Legit is it leadership? Character? What the fuck? How and why? These losses look very familiar.
Two things confuse me-
1- Seider doesn't look like he likes hockey this year. He rarely shows any emotion at all, and I never wondered last year.
2- What the heck is causing the massive collapses (8 goals?!) in the 3rd periods?
Seider is spending too much time trying to block shots and think.
The new D system is not conducive to him playing at all. The structure they have him in is hurting his game more than helping as he struggles to do everything they want him to do.
He's passing way more because that's how the plan is drawn up and is less aggressive.
Also, stats from Prashanth Iyer are irrelevant, the team is/was missing huge holes in it since the start of the year.
Not even remotely apples to apples comparison.
Oof.
More talent, but not playing like it to date.
New coach, new system, ~5 new forwards and 2 new dmen playing regularly, Bertuzzi and Vrana have played in how many of the first 16?
Yeah, not an ideal start, but I'll give them a little time to get healthy, learn the system and linemates, and find a groove.
