Then either select the text and hit it l (italicize) it.

Just italics... keep it simple... I like it.

Also, notice the reply selection, that lists your comment in the same thread, allowing for more organization.

Plus a delete and edit option are available too.

I am a fan of the new threading, on the former, with robust discussion it was sometimes hard to tell who was talking about what.
