The Detroit Red Wings added another top-six forward Wednesday on the first day of free agency, signing left wing David Perron to a two-year deal that averages $4.75 million a season.
Perron is 34 but coming off a 27-goal season, his highest output since 2013-14. He tallied 57 points in 67 games for the St. Louis Blues. He continued to produce in the playoffs with nine goals and 13 points in 12 games.
Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman continued his signing spree on the first day of free agency Wednesday, inking left wing Dominik Kubalik to a two-year contract worth $2.5 million a season.
Kubalik, 26, had 15 goals and 17 assists in 78 games this past season for the Chicago Blackhawks. He became an unrestricted free agent after the Blackhawks declined to make him a qualifying offer.
The left-handed shooter scored 30 goals and tallied 46 points as a rookie in 2019-20.
