from Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now,
The Hockey News yesterday listed the Detroit Red Wings as one of the top trade five destinations for Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun.
The Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers and St. Louis Blues were the other teams on the Hockey News list
An NHL team official, with knowledge of the Chychrun situation, told Detroit Hockey Now he thought there were eight or 10 teams keenly interested in Chychrun. He believes the Red Wings are one of them. He didn’t know what other teams are offering, but he believes it will take three or four quality assets to make the trade happen.
We may not know what the Red Wings would give up, but we can be quite sure we know what they won’t give up: Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Simon Edvinsson and their 2022 first-round pick.
That’s their disadvantage. They are a rebuilding team that has picked early in the draft for three consecutive seasons. Their top prospects are too important to their future to move them.
