Most of us are too young to remember Ted Lindsay's play on the ice, but I am sure some of you have some Ted Lindsay stories to share.
I have told this one before and tweeted it this morning, but it is worth sharing again.
I have met Mr. Lindsay a few times but my first encounter with him is one to remember.
During my college years, I drove the Zamboni at my local rink, which happened to be the home ice for Hillsdale College.
Ted Lindsay was the coach and while I was resurfacing the ice, I looked up and saw some commotion going on near the dressing rooms.
Both teams used the same exit to enter the room but before they got there, I watched a huge battle of stick and gloves being tossed about.
In the middle of the fracas, none other the coach Lindsay. The players towered over him but that did not stop Ted from getting some good shots in, all while dressed in a suit.
I talked to him about it after the game and he had one word,- hockey.
