from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Detroit Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde will be at Ford Field Thursday watching his two favorite NFL teams, the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions.
Hes not prepared to make a prediction.
Thats a tough one, Lalonde said. Its my favorite AFC team up against my favorite NFC team. Ive always liked the Lions with that powder blue.
He also likes the energy Lions coach Dan Campbell exudes and said he will ask him to speak to his team when their season is done.
The same passion and excitement the fan base has with Coach Campbell, I have it to, Lalonde said. When their season is over, Im going to ask him to come talk to the guys. I dont care what you talk about, just talk with the passion like you always do.

Looks like Lalonde is doing everything he can to get Copp going. I hope it works.

Man, I'm loving the way Lalonde thinks more and more all the time. He seems to be a perfect extension of the way Yzerman thinks. Listening to him talk is a breath of fresh air compared to, well, you know, that "other guy."
To be fair, at no time did The Other Guy have a roster with comparable talent.
I get that, WD, but my comment wasn't about the roster. It was all about how each of the head coaches talk/talked about their team and their approach to the game. Lalonde talks like a living, breathing human being. The Other Guy talked like an automaton reciting sections of some college text book.
Listen to the Lalonde interview at the 11 minute mark. He really breaks down Copp's role.
Point taken.
And am not defending Copp's play because I want more too. He has not scored more than 21 a goals in a season. I think last year he had less than 10. I do not believe he was brought in for his goal scoring abilities, more so his complete game especially on the defensive zide. Just my take.
