Altering Expectations

Keep KK running. Help out if you can.

Comfortable in his office somewhere in Little Caeser's Arena, Ken Holland is scouting out homes in suburban Seattle, itchy to buy and get his next life started.

A few miles away in suburban Detroit, Red Wing GM Steve Yzerman is strumming his fingers, pleased at his decision to re-join the organ-I-zation that raised him as he raised Cups.

Neither could have sanely expected this team to be this good, this soon.

Wing Captain, Dylan Larkin, would like you to know that this team has no appetite for tanking.

After the last four games, and really after the first seven, this team has found an identity that none of us could have foreseen. Feisty, explosive, young, erratic, a little nervous with a lead, tempermental. Winning.

It's suddenly dawning on us that this team is going to make this winter and this spring very interesting.

What a fascinating turn of events.

It's a Live Blog, bitches.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
