A KK/A2Y member emailed me this morning with some information on a new logo the Wings plan to use next season.
This is not an alternate logo, instead it will replace the current logo from sweaters to marketing material.
One thing to note is the very center of the wheel hub in the new logo will flash quickly after the Wings score a goal.
I am more of an old-school type of fan and resist change, but what do I know. Kind of a step in my opinion to attract fans who are just getting into the game.
What do you think?
The blinking of the center of the logo will be controlled by a chip, the size of a pin head embedded in the sweater.

Ticky tack gimmicks around the margins that nobody asked for, while ignoring the reason people are turning away from sports: The ridiculous amount of advertising they shoehorn into every possible cranny they can. Baseball is trying a bunch of stupid gimmicks, too, and that's going to sink the sport entirely.

I believed because it is so gimmicky it fit. I believe MLB will in the near future draw 20 foot diameter circles in which infielders will only be allowed to field a batted ball. This after caving and banning “the shift” because it’s just too damn difficult to hit to the opposite field when you’re trying to jack 420 foot HRs. I hate Major League Baseball, Incorporated, and the NHL is not far behind, both out of touch with fans.
