The thing with the standings is, the Wings have GOT to win against Pitt/Wash/NYI/Fla, and do it in regulation. Going out and winning on the west coast is nice and feels good and all, but they simply have to steal points away from the other teams in the Eastern conference Wild Card hunt.
Another clear example of why I hate that they don't default to showing standings by P%. The task ahead doesn't look near as daunting now that they've got 5 wins in a row. Just need to keep things buzzing getting about 70% of remaining points and they'll be in good shape. Like Larkin said, make Yzerman's decisions tough.
