You're the ref, you make the call.
You're the ref, you make the call.
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
I think it was shown last night very clearly that the fix was in for these two games. If I'm Stevie, I'm sending a video to the league.
What for? With OTT up for sale, don't you think it's the League itself who "ordered" such officiating?
Get real, Stevies busy remodeling...
It's a perfect call from the Draftkings board of the executives.
That was perfect defense IMHO
I think the first word that comes to mind is bull...
I think they’ve scored 3 goals across these two games and even if this was a ref show, they weren’t good enough. Excuses at this time of year are for losers. They weren’t good enough. Time to reevaluate the deadline.
And yes, the officiating over these two games was extremely questionable, but that presumes the Wings deserved anything. They stunk, overall.
Bad call. But the Fabbri game misconduct was worse. What was the infraction?
The Wings should've had a PP after the Kubalik goal, and instead go 4on4, and then they called this utter BS to tie the game, and continued to make weak calls until the game was out of hand. Someone should take the fine and call the officiating for what is was, especially the penalty shot.
That said, you adjust your cup and play, and instead the Wings folded, 13-3 in a critical back to back that's on them, not a few cheap calls.
It was a fucking joke call.
No way that was even a penalty, let alone a penalty shot.
The officiating in Ottawa these past two games was completely brutal, and you can't really be expected to beat the refs AND a bunch of crying "tough guys" who got away with murder.
I'm speculating, of course, but Ima guessing that selling a Team in the playoffs would warrant a boost in price to the owners and <cough, cough> Lil Gary.... Ass.
