The two blowout losses in Ottawa forced Steve Yzerman's hand.
Yzerman was prepared to make a move if the Wings showed signs of faltering and he did so today by moving Filip Hronek to Vancouver.
Hronek I am sure had other suitors but Yzerman made the trade he felt was best for Detroit.
More coming, no doubt about it. Short term a few more players will be moved by 3pm ET on Friday and the roster tinkering will continue through the summer.
The GM must be disappointed by the last two games and now must work to improve the roster. The work is about to begin.

Shades of Yanic Perreault, I hope?
I have a feeling bert is going tomorrow.
I figured Yzerman would be a seller after the disaster in Ottawa.
I'm hoping we're not just converting real players into picks that'll develop 4-7 years from now. Granted this isn't the time of year that GMs typically convert draft assets into up-and-coming players (something SY has excelled at over his two GM stints), so I'm okay with grabbing picks this week in anticipation of some upcoming swindling before next season.
This is what I'm trying to explain to people: Draft picks are literally lottery tickets. Why would you hoard a bunch when you could use them to acquire something tangible? Especially when you're a team on the cusp of coming out of a rebuild.
