Detroit played a very good first period until losing their 1-0 lead in the last minute of play.
The Wings broke the 1-1 tie early in the second period and added another goal to make it 3-1 after forty minutes of play.
Vegas scored with 41 seconds left in the third but the Wings held on to win 3-2.
Below find a BSD video and the Detroit goals.
They played much better tonight, especially after Vegas tied it at 1-1.
Very good game tonight. I haven't stayed up for a late game in a while. Larkin's pass to Raymond was amazing. I would love to see more of that. Go Wings!!!
I am worried about Tbert. Is he hurt? Pulled off for a trade? If he is hurt will he be well before the trade deadline or signed or lost for nothing in FA.
Found answer to my question. Bert tweaked his back a bit. Not long term.

Those Vegas helmets give me a headache. Woof.
All three goals were pretty. No garbage goals there. Makes the game a little bit more fun to watch.
Husso, Veleno and Lalonde.
from Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,
The Detroit Red Wings headed out to dinner, their appetites stoked by a satisfying victory.
The kind of puck management that coach Derek Lalonde has stressed since training camp was key to beating the Vegas Golden Knights, 3-2, Thursday, enabling the Wings to feel good on their scheduled flight home Friday. They host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday at Little Caesars Arena, a chance to start one of those winning streaks the Wings have talked so much about of late.
"It would be nice to put some wins together and put ourselves in a better position," Dominik Kubalik said after scoring a power play goal at T-Mobile Arena. "If we are going to be playing like that, I think we can build off our five-on-five game. Thats been pretty good, and special teams are getting better. Well be all right."
The only fault Lalonde found with the performance was a bit of sloppiness near the end of the first period, and again late in the third period.
"I still think were a little nervous in some of those situations in the third period, we could have made a few more plays out of our zone, instead of just panicking and giving up," he said, "but I think that will come with some experience and maturing as a group.
"It can be a frustrating group at times because you see moments of us playing extremely well and for a majority of the time and just finding ways not to mange the game correctly and not get results. We were good from start to finish and got results. Something like this will certainly build confidence."

per velano: we put in 60 minutes..too bad SY and crew had to babysit them to get it done.
better move bert before he goes down again - his chronic injuries have already handcuffed SY's ability to maneuver.
wheres V? time is running out.
about those vegas helmets, shades of chalie o. finley, who signs off on this stuff?
Totally agree about the helmets, terrible. I do not know if we made Vegas look bad or they did it to themselves, but they looked like an average AHL team, not a cup contender.
All 3 goals were very nice, especially Veleno as I just did not know he is capable of shooting the puck like that, maybe he should do it more often. I looked at the schedule and next 3 games are really winnable. Then Islanders in NY and Oilers at home. To have a chance to make the playoffs, we have to take 8 out of 10 in the next 5.
