Yesterday when Kate reached me to say she was still not feeling well, I suggested she take tonight off too, so it's me again.
Puck drop is around 9:08pm ET and the Wings need to be ready to play. The Flames last played on Monday in Ottawa and have been home since waiting for the Wings. You know the Flames will come out hard tonight.

Yeah if they don’t intend to or think they will have a hard time signing Bertuzzi I would expect at least a second round and maybe a first. It’s a crap shoot, the chance of a draft pick outside the top 4 or 5 ever becoming as effective a NHL player as Bertuzzi are pretty low.
IMO, Bert wil sign a 1 or 2 year contract with the Wings. He needs t reestablish himself.
Even if he is traded, the new team will want to sign him but will offer him a long term deal with a low ball offer.
I would like to see him remain with the Wings. He definitely helps to fill out two to three lines that can score. He, Fabbri, and Vrana have not been healthy in the lineup al the same time all year. Add Larkin, Raymond, Berggren, Perron, Kubalik, Lurch, Veleno, heck they could finally start scoring goals consistently .
EDIT: Rasmussen et al, I didn’t mean to list all the forwards but if all healthy they could score more.

This could cause real issues with some teams coming up which may result in a chaotic trade deadline. Some teams might suddenly have a very large budget crisis.

Jebus, I considered flying out to Washington for a week to watch the Wings but got an unexpected bill and convinced myself the Wings weren’t playing that well anyway, so I didn’t go. WA and HI are the only two states I’ve never been in so I was going to cross that one off the list.
