from Kevin Allen of Detroit Hockey Now,
Detroit Red Wings prize prospect Marco Kasper primarily played his first game in the NHL on a broken kneecap.
The Red Wins announced Kasper was shutdown because of injury, but didn’t say what the injury was.
Austrian media outlet sport.orf.at revealed the injury in reporting Kasper will be unavailable for the World Championships in Finland and Latvia May 12-28. The outlet said Kasper will be sidelined six weeks.
He can rest for next season.
I believe it was TPH asking for Miggy too.
Would have been nice to see Kasper in action for 5 more games and then in WC, but alas
So he showed up with it already broken? Not that it matters but damn.
Darn- was looking forward to seeing him in the remaining games....
The way they had been talking about him being injured and potentially getting into a game (before his start), it sure seems like they knew about this injury but he was up for giving it a try. Maybe it was something different, but I'd be curious to know when it broke. I guess it's possible it was during his Wings game, but I don't know if he got into any collisions that may have done it.
