Good evening and welcome to all. Welp, it’s the last game of the season, and it’s been really tough down the stretch for all Wings fans. The season had it’s ups and downs, but, the final outcome was predictable. No playoff for you! We all knew this coming in, so now, I do expect to see a playoff viable team next year(even if they still miss getting in), that at least doesn’t embarrass me.
I’d like to thank the 19, and anyone who lurked, or checked in, for toughing it out this season. Freaking hard core Wingaholics is what y’all are now. Thank you, Paul for giving us this space, and, through out all the stress you had to deal with this year. Thanks, as always, to Bill Houlihan, our founder, we hope all is well with you Chief. Also, we cannot forget to thank the BSD broadcast crew. The best in the business. And, a special mention for Mickey Redmond, he is one of a kind. His straight up approach has kept us staying tuned to some really bad games. A magician…..

Thanks Kate and PK for sticking with it even when other things were pressing for time. My early online game time experiences were on mlive, which no longer has comment capability. Both PK and Bill Houlihan were active on the Red Wings pages of mlive at the time, and both correctly determined that they could do better. And they have.

Cal I havent done a precise head count like a First Sergeant would, but I think if theyre close the Wings should give spots to Mazur and Amadeus, not hand it to them, but if theyre earning it. I dont see that Zadina or Erne would be part of an improved playoff caliber team, or maybe even Veleno but he seems pretty entrenched.
Add Rasmussen back in here with other youngins like Berggren and Cool Hand Luke , maybe a couple of those young guys and who knows who else SY may add, and players who have largely been unnoteworthy may find themselves in GR, or elsewhere.

There was one season back in the Wings-Avs heyday where they had the last game of the season against each other, completely meaningless, and they played a boring game like this that I think the Wings won 1-0. Sakic and Steve had put the law down that the important games were yet to play.
