Good evening to all and welcome. Tonight marks the end of a lengthy road trip for the Wings as they take on the Caps. It’s gone way better than many anticipated, so it’s something to continue to build on. Vrana will see his first start in a long time, so wishing him great success.
There are currently six teams jockeying for a Wild Card spot, and the Wings are surprisingly right in the mix. I really didn’t expect that to happen this season, but, we’ll take it for now.
It’s the Wings vs the Capitals. The puck is set to drop around 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network (97.1 The Ticket in Detroit). Also available on NHLPP/ESPN+, SNE, SNO, and NBCSWA.

Back in the Eastern Time Zone. Man these early starts take me by surprise.
Probably everyone here is farther west than I. If you check the western sky now after sunset theres a great setting of the crescent moon, followed by Venus and Jupiter, both unmistakable. Each night for 3 nights the moon will move up through Venus and Jupiter. Around March 1 after sunset Venus and Jupiter will be just 0.5 degrees apart in the western sky after sunset. This only comes around every once in a while.

The Wings have 5 games in hand on the Isle I think, so they can make up 5 points.
