Dylan Larkin had difficulty coming up with words to sum up Saturday’s 3-0 loss to the Dallas Stars.
It was tough to describe, because not a lot happened, at least from the Detroit Red Wings’ perspective.
“For a lot of that game, it was 0-0, not much going on, a lot of interference, not a lot of open lanes, close-checking,” Larkin said. “We gave them what they got, and they didn’t give us much.”...
“I really felt the past couple weeks since I came back from injury we were taking a step in close games and learning how to win,” Larkin said. “That was a really close game for two periods, and it wasn’t the way we had to play in the final half of the game.”...
“I thought both teams played hard,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “It was a pretty fast game. We knew we were going to get their best tonight (after beating Dallas 3-2 on Thursday). We wanted to make sure they got ours. I don’t think they necessarily got our best, but I thought our guys’ effort level was high and compete level was high.”
