from Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now,
In all likelihood, Detroit’s No. 1 unit will be composed of captain Dylan Larkin in the middle of Tyler Bertuzzi and Jakub Vrana. It’s a logical combination. Larkin will be the engine that drives play. Bertuzzi will do the dirty work in the corner and at the net front. Vrana is a natural finisher.
That leaves a second unit of Filip Zadina-Robbie Fabbri-Pius Suter. It will be up to Blashill to determine whether he utilizes newcomer Sutter or returnee Fabbri as the center on this line.
The probable third line figures to be Michael Rasmussen between Adam Erne and Sam Gagner. There’s some offense on this unit. As well, there’s size and defensive responsibility.
A number of bodies figure to be in play when it comes to Detroit’s fourth line. Mitchell Stephens will be at center. Vladislav Namestnikov and Givani Smith, who’s no longer waiver exempt, are the likely wingers.
