Edmonton - General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have signed Head Amateur Scout Stu MacGregor to a three-year contract extension.
MacGregor, 54, is responsible for the team’s amateur scouting staff and directs Edmonton’s table at the National Hockey League Entry Draft each year with the rest of the Oilers scouting and management team. Last year MacGregor and his staff selected first overall and chose Windsor Spitfire’s forward Taylor Hall with the team’s first-ever number one draft pick. Next month, MacGregor and the Oilers will once again pick first overall in Minnesota on June 24th.
“We are extremely pleased to have Stu agree to a three-year extension,” said Tambellini. “He and his staff continue to do a great job bringing in talent and character to the Oilers.”
