Colorado Signs Joakim Lindstrom

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Joakim Lindstrom to a one-year contract through the 2011-12 season.

Lindstrom, 27, spent this past season with Skelleftea HC of the Swedish Elite League, where he led the league in scoring with 60 points (28g/32a) in 54 games.  The Skelleftea, Sweden native led his team in points and penalty minutes (134) and ranked second in both goals and assists en route to being named to the 2011 Elitserien All-Star Team.  Lindstrom went on to collect 11 points (4g/7a) in 18 playoff games.

“We are pleased to have Joakim under contract,” said Avalanche General Manager/Executive Vice President Greg Sherman.  “With his combined experience in the NHL and Swedish Elite League, he will provide depth to our roster.”
