Blues Sign Huskins

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed free agent defenseman Kent Huskins to a one-year contract.

“Kent brings size and leadership to our defensive corps and we are looking forward to him joining the Blues,” said Armstrong.

Huskins, 32, played in 50 games for the San Jose Sharks last season, registering 10 points (two goals, eight assists) along with 12 penalty minutes.  In addition, the 6’4”, 210-pound defenseman posted a +8 rating, his fourth consecutive season of being a plus player (+43).  Huskins captured a Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 and has played in five National Hockey League (NHL) seasons, recording 60 points (11 goals, 49 assists) along with 159 penalty minutes in 274 career games.
