Blues Recall Tyson Strachan On Emergency Basis

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan under emergency conditions from the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
Strachan, 24, skated in two preseason games for the Blues this season, registering one assist, two penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. The 6-1, 212-pound defenseman has played in 28 games for the Rivermen this season, recording four points (two goals, two assists) and 65 penalty minutes.

Blues Recall Brad Winchester

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled forward Brad Winchester from the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
Winchester, 27, has played in 13 games with Peoria this season, registering six points (four goals, two assists) along with 46 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 228-pound forward has skated in 119 National Hockey League games, collecting 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 153 penalty minutes.

Blues Claim B.J, Crombeen

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has claimed forward B.J. Crombeen on waivers from the Dallas Stars.
Crombeen, 23, has appeared in 15 games with Dallas this season, posting five points (one goal, four assists) along with 26 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 212-pound right winger has skated in 23 career NHL games, recording seven points (one goal, six assists) and 65 penalty minutes.
The Denver, Colorado native was originally Dallas’ second round selection, 54th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Crombeen’s father, Mike Crombeen, played five seasons with the Blues from 1978-83. Mike Crombeen scored one of the biggest goals in Blues history when he netted a series clinching double overtime goal against Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1981 playoffs.
B.J. and Mike would be the third father and son combination to play for the Blues. Bob and Brent Johnson were the first and Peter and Yan Stastny were the second.

Blues Assign Pietrangelo To OHL Team

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned defenseman Alex Pietrangelo to his junior team, the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League.
Pietrangelo, 18, a native of King City, Ontario, has skated in eight games for the Blues this season, recording one assist along with two penalty minutes.
He was the Blues’ first round pick, fourth overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Blues Recall Holt

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled goaltender Chris Holt from the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. Holt was signed to an NHL contract by the Blues on Oct. 31, 2008. In addition, the club has assigned goaltender Marek Schwarz to Peoria.

Blues Sign Chris Holt

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed goaltender Chris Holt.
Holt, 23, has played in two games with the Peoria Rivermen this season, posting a 2-0-0 record, a .915 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average.
Holt has spent the last three seasons in the New York Rangers system. The 6-3, 221-pound netminder saw one game of NHL action in 2005-06 with the Rangers. Last season, Holt split time between the ECHL’s Charlotte Checkers where he posted a 15-13-2 record, 2.72 goals against average and .915 save percentage, and the Hartford Wolf Pack (5-3-0, 2.42 GAA, .906 save %).
The South Surrey, British Columbia native was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round, 180th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
