The Red Wings today recalled forward Darren Helm from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League and assigned forward Darren McCarty to the Griffins. The Red Wings also assigned forward Randall Gelech from Grand Rapids to Rochester (AHL).
Helm is currently second on the Griffins roster in scoring with 18 points in 16 games (5-13—18).
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Capitals have recalled defensemen Karl Alzner and Sami Lepisto and forwards Chris Bourque and Graham Mink from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from the Lake Erie Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland.
Cumiskey leads all Monster defensemen in scoring with eight points (1g/7a) in 16 games played. He was recalled earlier this season by the Avalanche on November 6 and appeared in one game (Nov. 6 vs. MIN) before being reassigned. During the 2007-08 season, Cumiskey appeared in 38 games with the Avalanche, recording five assists.
In a related move, the Avalanche placed forward Darcy Tucker on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in last night’s game in Anaheim. He’ll be sidelined approximately four weeks.
DENVER (November 22, 2008) – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that forward Brian Willsie has been recalled from the Lake Erie Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland. He will meet the team in Los Angeles and be available for tonight’s game against the Kings.
This marks Willsie’s first call-up of the season from Lake Erie where he leads the Monsters in goals (8), points (14) and plus/minus rating (+7). After posting goals six consecutive games to start the year, Willsie has recorded five points (2g/3a) in his last four games. Willsie has compiled 104 points (51g/53a) in 334 NHL games, including 15 points (7g/8a) in 69 games with the Avalanche.

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled forward Brad Winchester from the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
Winchester, 27, has played in 13 games with Peoria this season, registering six points (four goals, two assists) along with 46 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 228-pound forward has skated in 119 National Hockey League games, collecting 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 153 penalty minutes.
SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned goaltender Thomas Greiss to the Worcester Sharks, San Jose’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has claimed forward B.J. Crombeen on waivers from the Dallas Stars.
Crombeen, 23, has appeared in 15 games with Dallas this season, posting five points (one goal, four assists) along with 26 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 212-pound right winger has skated in 23 career NHL games, recording seven points (one goal, six assists) and 65 penalty minutes.
The Denver, Colorado native was originally Dallas’ second round selection, 54th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Crombeen’s father, Mike Crombeen, played five seasons with the Blues from 1978-83. Mike Crombeen scored one of the biggest goals in Blues history when he netted a series clinching double overtime goal against Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1981 playoffs.
B.J. and Mike would be the third father and son combination to play for the Blues. Bob and Brent Johnson were the first and Peter and Yan Stastny were the second.
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled right wing Bobby Ryan and defenseman Brett Festerling from the Iowa Chops, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled defenseman Jeff Woywitka from their Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned defenseman Alex Pietrangelo to his junior team, the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League.
Pietrangelo, 18, a native of King City, Ontario, has skated in eight games for the Blues this season, recording one assist along with two penalty minutes.
He was the Blues’ first round pick, fourth overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
